'Sex sells not talent'

For;
Genre relevant - not all genres use the method.

Against;
Talent such as the Beatles didn't rock about shirtless, they stuck to suits, yet they were loved, simply for their music.

Personal opinion;
I agree that sex is used to sell, and that in todays music, is more important than talent. However, i believe its based on genre, but the genres that do use sex and objectify men and women dominate the charts, something like 1500 lyrics in todays charts talk about sex, that speaks volumes. Also the Jody Gerson article, that literally spells out 'she was a great artist, but wasn't pretty so had to go'.

There are however examples of artists who don't use sex to sell in todays music world, for example, Adele. Her music is incredibly popular, and has a number of grammies to her name, yet she uses little to none sex in her videos.
