unit 5/6, my solo

For my solo, i found a drumless track, and have composed a beat that fits it, the process of coming up with said piece consisted of finding an appropriate tempo. The track was 130 BPM so a fairly quick piece was needed. I used a suitable 16th note  groove for the chorus, with a few chops and fills here and there. for the 'verse' a more subtle beat, consisting mainly of quick hi hats and the ride bell, which is a nice contrast to what happens in the chorus.

In terms of style, its fairly what I'm used to, however something I'm not as confident with is playing to tracks without any drums, so playing this live will be a challenge, however having to create my own beat is something i would like to develop, by doing this i hope will further that confidence.

Live event requirements;

Necessary equipment and why its needed -

The band - Without the band, there is no music and where the music comes from.

PA system - Depending on the genre, the volume can vary, but every gig needs a PA is needed for every gig, so the audience can actually hear the band.

Monitoring system - This can be in the form of floor monitors or in ear monitors, these are used to hear everyone else, a drummer playing at is loudest won't be able to hear their singer if it wasn't for a monitoring system, vice versa, other musicians are able to hear each other through the monitors which is key for fluidity.

Microphones - For singers and drums, obviously so you can hear the singer over everyone else, but why drums? Drums are tamed through microphones, and are fed through the PA's with the right levels to get the best sound. Bass and Guitars are fed through the PA without microphones so aren't required.

Pedal Board - Mainly for guitarists and bassists, effects pedals add a diverse range to their sound arsenal, adding delay, distortion etc at their will.

Lighting and Visuals - Some bigger gigs will have a big screen, either for a cosmetic effect or for people further back that can't see. Also a lighting rig would be used in some cases to add special effects to performance, controlled at the front of house with the sound team.

Venue - The venue can vary, big bands can play in small venues, small bands can play at big venues, with the venue, staff are needed, such as stewards, security assistants etc, as long as the venue is safe and well managed, its good enough for a gig.
