Rehearsal journal - 18th september - reggae
Monday session;
Today we were presented with a new track and new genre, monkey man by the specials, a reggae track. what went well; as a group we managed to perform the song all the way through, and when asked to we could perform it without any problems. One issue i personally had was changing the drum pattern at one point to match what the singer was doing. As a group, one smart target was to play the song through with the inclusion of my changed drum pattern. I would say the group targets were met, the only thing that needed work was me, who needed to learn when the pattern changes and for how long it is different, which i will work on for the next session.
Thursday session;
The main focus of todays session was to play the song, record it, but with the changed drum pattern. By the end of the session, we managed to record the song, but without the drum pattern, so for the next session we needed to record the song, only with this pattern.
